Dear Colleagues,
As an Alicantino, scientist and a member of the Board of Directors of the Spanish Society for Immunology, it is a great honour and responsibility to welcome you to the first Alicante-Winter Immunology Symposium in Health (A-WISH) which will be held on December 16th and 17th 2021, at the Auditorium of the Diputación de Alicante (ADDA).
Over the past months, we have been determined to put together a programme that will showcase some of the most innovative scientific projects in the field of immunology, and host discussions in a welcoming and inclusive environment, to ensure an unforgettable experience at the first A-WISH Symposium in Alicante.
This international Symposium aims to address strategies for the COVID-19 response and pandemic preparedness, the development of the vaccines against SARS-CoV-2 and the immunological response to infection and different COVID-19 vaccines. In this Symposium, we also aim to acknowledge the work on research, diagnosis and vaccination against infectious diseases through the creation of the Boulle – SEI Award for internationally recognized scientific teams that have contributed to the treatment of vaccine-preventable diseases.
